This course covers all aspects of high-level grammar, much of which is difficult even for native speakers. This should be the last grammar course you need to take.
This course covers all aspects of grammar that intermediate-level students or above should know.
If you occasionally make grammatical errors or get confused by complex grammar rules, then this course will benefit you. It lays a strong foundation and gives you guidance to achieve higher-level goals, like speaking correctly in both casual and formal situations.
The Transitions course will help you connect ideas, direct the listener's attention, add emphasis and communicate more smoothly and naturally.
Each lesson has a language theme (for example, describing results) and a topic (for example, discussing education). You will build your English skills while having an in-depth discussion on topics that often come up in speaking tests.
Prepare for your G.B.C. test by doing mock tests. Each one will include questions regarding:
- familiar or personal topics;
- business and your industry;
- your country or global issues; and
- abstract topics.
Use these mock tests before your exam to practice strong argumentation, fluency and delivery. Mock tests are most effective when used to practice skills learned in the Speaking Test Strategies course.
The G.B.C. test is used by many of the leading companies in Japan to assess English communication and language skills. It's a very broad test, that goes beyond grammar and vocabulary to judging your delivery, body language, pronunciation, logic and more.
If you are doing the G.B.C. test soon, we can help you prepare. You can practice with your teacher in two ways:
- Go through our complete list of G.B.C.-style questions. You'll get lots of feedback and advice to help you improve your score; or
- Do a mock test, so you can get used to the atmosphere and style of the test.
If you have never done the G.B.C. test before, then you should do a couple of mock tests first so that you understand how to do the test and what to expect.
