I have a business and science background, specializing in all facets of business consulting and management, as well as education, with an emphasis on healthcare, including sales, marketing, consumables, and sustainability. I've been a sales representative, product specialist, and marketing manager, and have written articles and bulletins for doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, as well as organizing events, medical conferences, and teaching groups of medical and nursing people. I have a BSc(hons). My interests include writing, painting, reading, gardening, tennis, nature, and world affairs.

I have been teaching English for over 20 years and I absolutely love this job.

I gained a certificate in TESOL in 2000, a Post Graduate Diploma in TESOL in 2014, and a Master's in Education in 2020. I have taught in Spain, South Korea, Australia, Nepal and the UK.. I have experience teaching students from many different countries with different levels of English, and I have taught courses of General, Academic and Business English as well as Exam preparation classes. 

Nowadays, I live in the UK. When I am not teaching online, I am teaching international students at Aston University. And in my free time, I enjoy cooking, walking, reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

I was born and educated in England but have lived in Sri Lanka for many years where I have been working on a charity project teaching English to students unable to afford classes. It has been both a highly rewarding and fascinating experience teaching students from many different cultural backgrounds. My classes have included students from China, Japan, Myanmar and Bangladesh who are often Buddhist monks and nuns who come to Sri Lankan universities to study religious texts using English as their common language.

I have five children. Two of them are still of school age. I also have a two year old grandson.

I am currently back in England where I now spend my time home schooling my youngest daughter, helping past students with their English, editing authors’ manuscripts and working as a publicist for authors.

I love to discuss philosophy, psychology and literature, especially poetry. I spend most of my free time training for the sprint events in athletics which is also a great passion for me.

I moved to Japan in 2019 from the UK and now live in the countryside near Takasaki in Gunma, with my wife and two dogs. I work full time as an English language teacher and in my spare time, I am refurbishing the house we have bought.

I am originally from England and speak British English and I have also lived in Japan, Italy and Germany.

I am an experienced, qualified teacher and taught in junior/high schools, in the UK, for 10 years.

I have also taught English for 7 years as a private tutor; as an EFL teacher in England.

When teaching English, I like to encourage my students to speak as much English as they can, to encourage them to start to think in English. I will expect you to work hard in lessons but I will also be very patient with you.

Before I became a teacher, I worked as an accountant and financial consultant and have worked in many countries as part of my job. This included Japan, where I worked at BMW Japan for a year. I have a lot of background knowledge of both the automotive and education sectors.

I have had the good fortune of spending my early youth in South Africa before moving to Brunei Darussalam. I subsequently completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design at an Australian university where my first teaching job was with refugees.
