For anyone using TED Talks to practice their listening and speaking skills, here are a couple of cool things you can do on the website:
1. Watch with subtitles
Just click the speech icon on the bottom-right corner of the video. You'll find English subtitles, and for some talks (like this one by Dan Pink), there are Japanese subtitles too.

動画の右下にある吹き出しアイコンをクリックすると、英語の字幕が表示されます。こちらのダニエル・ピンクの「やる気に関する驚きの科学」は、日本語字幕付き動画です。人気があり最新でないトークは、日本語字幕が更新されやすい傾向があります。

Meet Nadia, our newest teacher at The English Farm. She was born and raised in New Jersey, then at the age of 13 moved to Greece where she lives to this day. Nadia also manages her family business. In addition to having 18 years of experience teaching both general and business English in a variety of language schools, Nadia is also a professional oral examiner. For those of you taking speaking tests such as TOEFL, now is your chance to train with someone who has assessed these exams! You can read more about her on Nadia's profile.
13歳までアメリカのニュージャージーで生まれ育ち、その後はギリシアに移り現在に至ります。
家族経営のビジネスを運営しつつ、様々な語学学校で一般英語やビジネス英語の講師18年目でもあります。
またスピーキングテストの正式な試験官ですので、TOEFLなどのスピーキングテスト対策に取り組みたい生徒へ特にお勧めです。

We'd like to inform you that two of our teachers, Emma and Melanie, will be away from teaching for a while. Emma is on maternity leave. Melanie is taking time off to study translating (Japanese/English) and is scheduled to be back in mid-November.

オーストラリア出身で現在パース在住のMarc先生は、日本の小・中・高等学校や英会話教室での講師歴12年のベテランで、今後も児童教育に携わっていきたいと精進しています。ビジネス英語はもちろん、TOEIC、英検対策の指導経験も豊富です。
またグラフィックデザインの経歴もあり、空いた時間はデザイン作業に取り組んでいます。
現在は、パーソナルトレーナーの資格を取るべく栄養学を勉強中で、ご自身を”バスケマニア”と呼ぶほどのスポーツファンです。スポーツ好きの方は先生とスポーツ談話を是非お楽しみください。

旧ソビエト連邦生まれで、8歳まで旧ソビエト連邦・イスラエル・メキシコ・カナダの4ヶ国で育ち、英語・フランス語・ロシア語に精通し、スペイン語も話せます。4年に渡る公務員職務経験を活かし、出生率低下から非核化、地政学等と東アジア政策問題に関する知識が豊富な上、日本の歴史や地理にも興味を持っておられます。このような東アジア政策や歴史について語りたい生徒へ特におすすめです。
