Pronunciation and phonetic spelling

An easy way to deal with pronunciation is to go to Dictionary.com and look the word up. You'll then see phonetic (IPA) or spell-it-like-you-say-it pronunciation below the word. There is also a recording of words for students to listen to. It is a good resource.

Just copy and paste the /pruh-nuhn-see-ey-shuh/ bit into your lesson record. That blue toggle switch in the image that says "spell" can be clicked to give IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) spelling: /prəˌnʌn siˈeɪ ʃən/ You can also get a voice recording here and syllables: pro·nun·ci·a·tion

Another option is to Google "define [word]" and you will get IPA. That is not as useful for some, but many students are taught to read IPA.
