5 Student profile
1. Access
- Click the student's name under "Future lessons" or "Past lessons" on "My Page."
- Click the student's name in schedule.
- Click "Students" tab at the top of the website.
- Type in the student's name.
- Click on student's name to be brought to their profile.
- Click on the link to the student's profile in reminder emails or class reservation notification emails.
2. Lesson record, skills assessment OR progress report & order book buttons (more on these later):
- Lesson record: click the green button to create a lesson record
- Skills assessment or progress report button: click here to create a skills assessment or a progress report. If the student is a new student, the button will be a skills assessment button. Once a skills assessment has been created, the button will automatically change to a progress report button. This is because skills assessments are an initial assessment of the student's skills. A progress report is just that; a report on the progress of the student since he/she started with TEF. More on skills assessments and progress reports later on.
- Order textbook: click here to put in a textbook order (more on this later)
3. Student milestones & characteristics
- These flags tell us if the student is VIP or not, corporate or independent, a regular student or not, etc. These flags are automatic. If you click on them, they will change. If you suspect there is a mistake, tell admin.
4. Needs & company (staff only)
- This section is written by teachers and is for teachers. Students can't see it! Any relevant information about the student should be here. Please don't let on that you know personal info about the student unless the student tells you themselves! You can see that if the student is corporate, their company name will be listed. You can click on it to read more about it.
5. Course & tests
- You can see the student's current course(s) and past course(s). Clicking on the course name will take you to the page about the course.
- You can see student's test dates. This is referring to the GBC exam.
- You can see student's past test results. This is also referring to the GBC exam.
6. Profile and Location & language
- This is what the student fills out. You can see the student's nickname, past test results, class requests, etc. You can also get to the student's Skype account by clicking on their Skype ID.
7.Student's lesson history
- All the student's past lessons are listed here. You can scroll through them all the way back to their first lesson. You can see who taught the lesson, when it took place and the title of the lesson record (which is the topic of the lesson).
8. Company icon
- If the student is corporate, their company icon will appear at the top of the page.
- If the student is independent, their icon will say "Indy."
9. Previous lesson box
- You can see:
- Who the teacher was
- When the lesson took place
- What happened in the lesson (this is the title of the lesson record and clicking this will take you to it)
- What course the student is working on
- A message to the next teacher (which students can't see!)
- What should be done next lesson
- Any homework the teacher assigned
10. [Student's name] future
- All future lessons this student has booked are here. These times are in your local time.
11. Review [student's name]'s last lesson
- This pulls vocabulary and phrases from this student's last lesson. Try to incorporate vocab and phrases from this section into the lesson to help the student review.
12. Recent questions covered Question List. This pulls tests questions that have been asked in recent lessons. The teacher inputs questions in the lesson record.
12. [Student's name] teachers
- You can see the breakdown of how many classes this student has taken and with whom.
- You can also see how many no-shows this student has and how many times they have arrived late. This can help give you an idea of what kind of student this is (punctual, etc.).
13. Homework history
- If the student has submitted any homework to TEF, it will appear here.
14. Current study plan
The current study plan the student is working towards. This is pulled from either the progress report or the skills assessment (more on these later).
Click "full report" to see it in more detail.
15. [Student's name] progress
- This is a list of all skills assessments and progress reports that have been done for this student (more on these later).
16. [Student's name] book orders. Here you can see all textbooks that have been ordered for the student.
