12 Progress Reports

12 Progress Reports

  1. Access
    • Click the "Progress Report" button on the student's profile.
    • Hover over the "Content" button in the black bar at the top of the website. A list will drop down. Hover over "Add content." Another list will drop down. Click "Progress report."
  2. What is a progress report? Progress reports are skills assessments that are done after the student has been taking lessons with TEF for some time. You are paid to fill out progress reports. The system automatically keeps track of the progress reports you fill out, so you don't need to book a lesson with yourself in the calendar to get paid for it.
  3. Who should fill out a progress report:
    • The teacher who taught the student the most should fill it out.
  4. When to fill out a progress report:
    • For corporate students:
      • After doing the "Goals check-in and planning" lesson with students towards the end of the term, roughly every 6 months (more on this goals and check-in lesson in the teaching training section).
      • When they finish a course.
    • For independent students:
      • About once a year.
      • When they finish a course.
  5. How to fill out a progress report:
    1. Go to the student's profile (the profile of whom the progress report is for) and click the red button that says "Progress Report."
    2. Put in the student's name at the top of the page (in the blank slot). Make sure the student's name is spelled correctly!
    3. Click the course the student has been working through (or just finished). Put in the page number if the student has not finished the book yet.
    4. Give the student leaf ratings based on their skills. This follows the GBC scoring! Click the link "help page for full description of levels" for information on this.
      • You can give higher scores for things like "Effort."
    5. Put in the student's goal. Remember that it should be SMART (see above)!
    6. Fill out the following sections:
      1. "Our evaluation of your skills." Be honest here, but gentle.
      2. "Your study plan." Be specific here about the new study plan you and the student came up with during the "Goals and check-in and planning" lesson.
      3. "Teacher's comment." Write a nice message to the student. End on a high note.
    7. Click "Save" when you have finished. It will be sent to the student so they can review it. You will be taken back to the student's profile. You will be able to see the skills assessment at the bottom of their profile and you will see their current study plan (under their future lessons).
  • Mock progress reports: the trainer should show the trainee a few good progress report examples. The trainee can also fill out a mock progress report for Matthew Test account if they would like!
