1. Access
- Logging in will directly bring you to "My Page."
- Click "The English Farm" icon at any point up at the top of the page to return to this page.
- Click "My Page" up at the top at any point to return to this page.
2. Points, News, Discuss this, Staff News
- Points
- There is a running list of how many lessons you have taught that month.
- There is a running list of how many homework assignments you have checked that month.
- News
- This section is for students. Most recent news will appear at the top. Click on each news title to keep up-to-date with what students should know.
- Staff News
- This section is for teachers. Most recent news will appear at the top. News that you have not read will stay at the top. To make them disappear, click "I got it."
- Discuss this
- Students and teachers can see this. The English Farm is constantly coming up with discussion topics for teachers to use in class. They are written by other teachers. If the student wants to have a discussion lesson instead of working on their usual course, teachers can use these discussion topics. The most recent ones are at the top. Click "more topics" to expand this list.
3. Future lessons and past lessons
- Future lessons
- This is a list of your future lessons. It is in your local time! This list keeps updating itself to stay current. You can see there are other icons here:
- The student's name (click here to be brought to the student's profile - student profiles will be discussed in more detail later on)
- A link to create a lesson record (click here to create a lesson record for the lesson. Lesson records will be discussed in more detail later on, but keep in mind that a lesson record needs to be completed for every class you teach!)
- A link to the student's Skype account (click here to contact the student on Skype. Clicking here will not directly call the student, but will bring you to the student's Skype account so you can send them a message).
- The student's name (click here to be brought to the student's profile - student profiles will be discussed in more detail later on)
- This is a list of your future lessons. It is in your local time! This list keeps updating itself to stay current. You can see there are other icons here:
- Past lessons
- This is a list of your past lessons. It is also in your local time! This list also keeps updating itself. You can see there are other icons here:
- The student's name (click here to be brought to the student's profile)
- A link to add or edit a lesson record. If you have already created a lesson record for this particular class, you will be taken to that lesson record. If one has NOT been made yet, a blank form will appear.
- A link to the student's Skype account

4. To be checked
- Students can submit homework to be checked. Only homework that has been submitted to you will appear here. You will get an email when a student submits something for you. Checking homework will be explained in more detail later on.
5. Content drafts
- TEF teachers can contribute content to the site. This means blogs, discussion topics, courses, etc. All of the drafts that are being worked on at the moment will appear under this section.
- If the trainee is interested in contributing content, let admin know! Jeremy oversees all content that is published on the website.
- Personal drafts will appear at the bottom under "My drafts."
6. Social media
- You can see what TEF is posting on Facebook and Twitter at the very bottom of the page.
