An act of kindness

Visiting our loved ones is an act of kindness.

The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the greatest intention.—Khalil Gibran

There are many ways to show kindness. You can open the door for someone. You can say “bless you” when someone sneezes. When a person drops their pen, you can pick it up for them. You can give your seat to someone on the train or smile at the cashier in the grocery store. A small act of kindness is easy to give and meaningful for the person receiving it.

Language Point:

The word “act” comes from “action”. To act means to do something or to take action.

I'm going to act on that idea! (I'm going to do it!)

An "intention" is a goal or a plan.

It is my intention to complete this task by Monday.
(I plan on completing the task, but I don't know that I will.)

Planning is very important in life, but when we act, we are completing our goal. So today, make it your intention to be kind and then act on it!
