How has my hometown changed? That's an easy question to answer because it's changed a lot! It used to be a small college town—one of those little towns that doesn't have much else besides the college in it. There weren't any fast food places or department stores. There was a movie theater, but it was really old and the seats were terrible. We didn't get any movies right when they came out, so by the time we could see them everyone else already knew all about them. It was hard not to read anything that would spoil it for you, like what the plot is, that kind of thing. In the last 20 years, though, a lot of people are moving there from the city. They want to live in a quieter place, and they don't mind commuting for 45 minutes to get to work. The problem is, the more people who move there, the more big stores and restaurants—and fast food places—come to town, too. So it's not a quiet place anymore. It's more like a new suburb. I guess it's good to have more things to do there, but I miss the little town it used to be.
