Site offline for brand update

Hi everyone,

We are excited to announce that our new brand is on its way. 

Accordingly, we will need a bit of time to set the change in place. On July 13th (Friday) from 12:00 AM - 1:00 AM JST, the site will be temporarily closed for an hour in order to implement these changes. During this time, nobody will have access to the site (including lesson records, homework, profiles, etc.).

While we love our original brand, we wanted a logo and color that better expressed our beliefs as a company that values integrity and excellence, while still being approachable and human. We pride ourselves in being committed to quality, educational outcomes and the long-term growth of your English skills, and our new brand reflects that.

Calendar bug fixed

Good morning,

Over the weekend, we rolled out a fix to the calendar issues we have been having. We rebuilt the caching system, which was causing most of the trouble. Schedule bug: "Calendar outdated"

Hello everyone,

We are aware that there is a bug in the calendar that is making it difficult to book lessons. Thank you to the students that have reported this to us. We are working on a solution now and will update you when it is fixed. 

For now, if you have this trouble, I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

Meet Jen: our museum expert from Leicester

Meet Jen, the newest member of our team! She is from Leicester, England (some of you soccer fans may have heard of the city), and she lived and taught in Japan for two and a half years before moving back to her hometown. She has a degree in anthropology, is passionate about museums, and loves talking about social history. Sorry for email trouble

Hi,

I am very sorry for the email issues over the last few days. We moved to a new server last week, and right now email is being delayed. We can also see that some messages are being sent twice or more.

We are looking for a solution. I hope to solve this quickly.

Once again, I know you already get enough email in a day, so lots of messages from The English Farm does not help!

Bug fix update

Thanks as always for your support of The English Farm.

As you know, we introduced a new scheduling system a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, there were a lot of serious issues that caused trouble for some of you. I am very sorry about that. I really appreciate you getting in touch, and telling me about those problems. It helped us find the bugs and fix them faster.

Introducing the Speaking Test Strategies course

The English Farm is introducing our newest course: Speaking Test Strategies.

It is an update on our popular GBC course, and has been expanded and revised. There are new practices, more effective strategies and a greater focus on implementing the ideas in each lesson.

This course is the result of teaching the GBC course in thousands of lessons, finding what works and refining and perfecting each point. The Speaking Test Strategies course will replace the GBC course. 

New schedule system launched

With a clean, user-friendly interface, you should find it easier to book lessons and check your schedule. However, the best part of our new system is behind the scenes—the system is fully customised, so it enables us to update and adapt to our future needs. That means, the more we learn about how the scheduling system is used, the better we can make it for our students and teachers.
