Use MicrosoftEdge or Chrome
When using TEFtalk, please open The English Farm and log in. If you are using Windows, we recommend using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. If you are a Mac user, Google Chrome will work well.
※ If you are using an iPad/iPhone, please use Skype, Zoom, Teams, or other third party video calling application. The use of tablets or smartphones (such as an iPad/iPhone) on TEFTalk may lead to technical issues. If you are unsure of how to use any third party sites, please contact your teacher in advance or contact Technical Support at
Join the call
Open your browser to The English Farm and log in. Wait for a call from your teacher. Once the teacher calls you, you will see a new chat window (see below). Click the "Join" button (the light blue, video camera icon).
First-time users: Give access permissions to your microphone and camera
When you use TEFTalk for the first time, the chat window may say "WEBCAM INACCESSIBLE" and/or "MICROPHONE INACCESSIBLE." In this case, you will see a pop-up window on the upper corner of your screen, prompting you to give permissions for the site to access your microphone and camera. Please allow access.
Depending on the size of your screen, the permissions pop-up window may be hidden by the chat window. In such cases, move the chat window or click the pop-up window. Then click "Allow."
Open the chat window
Once you give permissions to use the microphone and camera, you may be unable to see the chat window. In this case, move your mouse to the browser icon at the bottom of your screen. Choose the chat window and click it.
Click JOIN
Once you give permissions to use the microphone and camera, the message on the chat window will say "WEBCAM ACCESSIBLE" and "MICROPHONE ACCESSIBLE." Click "JOIN" to start the call with your teacher.
Start the lesson
The video call will begin automatically.
