Culture training covers working on The English Farm and the ideas that underpin what we do. It also goes into collaboration with your co-workers as well as touching on how students behave in class.
We will cover:
- the culture of The English Farm;
- establishing rapport—how to balance being polite and friendly in a professional way and forms of address;
- class behaviour of students—how to manage this to maximise student talk time and reduce teacher talk time;
- ensuring that the student is following the lesson;
- attitudes to feedback and correction;
- the importance of pronunciation and the challenges students face;
- attitudes to class obligations—homework and preparation for class;
- major linguistic differences; and
- punctuality and professionalism.
This usually takes about 1 to 2 hours.
