International Legal English is an upper-intermediate level course for law students or lawyers who need to use English in their transnational legal work or studies. The course prepares learners for using English in a commercial law environment.
Using authentic legal texts and case studies supplied by TransLegal®, Europe's leading firm of lawyer-linguists, the course develops an understanding of the law and consolidates language skills. Featuring both academic and professional contexts, it is an ideal starting point for preparing for the Cambridge ILEC examination, providing ILEC exam practice tasks, tips and a full practice test.
The course covers:
- authentic legal texts and case studies;
- the language of international law in context; and
- online task-based activities to improve web-based research skills.
Language focus sections at the end of each unit provide more in-depth practice. There is also a pull-out glossary of terms and vocabulary.
This course is recommended for B2-C1 levels.
