About me

Hello world! My name is Andrea but you can call me Andy. I am a global educator, ESL/EFL teacher, lecturer, intrepid traveler, and photographer. The many years (20+) of teaching English and Spanish in Argentina, the USA, Andorra, China, Japan, Sudan, and Germany helped me develop a more global and multicultural perspective over the implications of being an educator. In 2021 I graduated from the MA Las Américas / The Americas at FAU in Germany and I’m currently working as a freelancer focusing on B2B and also teaching general English to learners from across the globe.

Versatility is one of the many aspects of my personality as a language teacher and I can assure you that this trait will directly benefit your learning process. To start with, I have proved to be adept at working with a wide range of people, from kindergarten children to adult business professionals obtaining satisfactory results. Keeping in mind the global nature of our world, my lessons implement a communicative approach that focuses on intercultural relationships.

Traveling, teaching, and volunteering in new and different cultures are some of my passions. The outdoors and animals are appealing to me, especially cats (I am a cat lover). In addition to my many interests, I enjoy leading a healthy lifestyle, working out, dancing salsa, and doing zumba.

Education

In 2001 I obtained my bachelor degree as an English teacher from the Superior Institute of Teaching Training Nº 8 “Almirante G. Brown", in Santa Fe, Argentina

The English teaching training course provides teachers-to-be with an understanding of the language learning processes and which teaching strategies could be used to support learners and increase student engagement when learning a second language.

In 2021, I graduated from the MA Las Americas/The Americas at FAU in Germany.

The master’s program The Americas/Las Américas has a structured inter- and transdisciplinary focus, consisting primarily of components of literary and cultural studies, political and social sciences, cultural geography, and language practice. In the program, students engage with cultural, historical, political, and social developments of the Americas in comparative, intercultural, and transnational perspectives.
