TEFtalk: major update on Tuesday 26th

Hello,

Last year, in December, we released TEFtalk, our communications platform. We have been working on this project since 2018.

We will be releasing a major update to TEFtalk on October 26th. This is the final phase of our transition away from Skype. There are some big changes, so please read this message carefully, especially if you are still using Skype.

From next week, we will be encouraging all lessons to take place on The English Farm website using TEFtalk.

Please take note of the following:

  • You will need to be logged in to The English Farm website to take your lessons.
  • Your teacher will not call you. Instead, both you and your teacher will join the call, like you do with Zoom or Teams.
  • There will be a new TEFtalk page. TEFtalk will not be on the side of the page.
  • Links to join the lesson will be on My Page, the schedule and on the new TEFtalk page.
  • Links to join the lesson will also be sent out in reservation notifications and lesson reminders.

The update makes TEFtalk available on all mobile devices and operating systems. It also solves many issues with stability and usability. Because of this, we will no longer be using Skype for lessons. If you have had trouble with TEFtalk before, please try again. Most problems and issues will be solved with this update.

If you have any questions, please contact support or talk to your teacher.

Regards,
Matthew
